Terms and Conditions for The Handcrafted Web

Domain Ownership: By submitting a site, you warrant that you are the sole and legitimate owner of the proposed domain and website URL. Submissions for sites you do not fully control are prohibited.

Human Creation: All submitted sites must adhere to the Human Pact. This means the core content, voice, and perspective must be created by a human being, without substantial reliance on automated AI systems for primary content generation.

Email Verification: The submitter must own and have access to the email address provided. This email is the sole contact point for account management, verification, and essential security notices.

All sites are added through a strictly manual and human vetting process. We do not yet utilize automatic systems for verifying listings. Every submission requires the human submitter to create a dedicated verification page (`yoursite.com/human`) to prove control and commitment to the HandCraftedWeb Pact.

We reserve the right to reject any website submission at our sole discretion, without providing a specific reason.

We expect and require all submitted websites to maintain high standards of ethical, moral, and legal conduct. This includes, but is not limited to, adhering to all applicable laws regarding copyright, libel, obscenity, and intellectual property in your jurisdiction.

Any attempt to misuse the submission system, engage in brute-forcing, or disrupt the directory's integrity is strictly forbidden and will result in permanent banning.

The sites you submit to the HandCraftedWeb must be personal sites, portofolios, open source projects, for-profit social and humanitarian causes, NGO's for the greater good and mostly non-comercial sites.

Commercial sites are allowed if they're run by a solopreneur or a small team and are related to privacy preserving ideas and the overall vision of the small HandCrafted Web. The HandCraftedWeb is NOT a platform for marketing, ads or any unethical linking.

The Handcrafted Web is merely a directory of links. We do not enforce, nor do we endorse, the views, opinions, or specific content found on any listed website. Each link provided leads to a third-party website outside of our control.

Users click on external links at their own risk.

We reserve the unconditional right to remove any website listing at any time, for any reason, with or without prior notice. Reasons for removal may include, but are not limited to, a breach of the Human Pact, failure to maintain the verification page, changes in site content, or concerns regarding legality or ethics.

We adhere to a strict policy of data minimization. No personal data is processed or stored other than the following essential information:

• The email address provided during submission.
• The website URL and description associated with the listing.
• IP addresses and server-side access logs required for security monitoring, preventing abuse, and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Hashed login credentials (The Permanent Site Key/Password hash) used for site management.

The collected data is used exclusively for the operation and security of The Handcrafted Web and for site management by the owner. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address or personal data with any third parties, except as required by law.

By using this service, you acknowledge that you are providing public links to your websites and that the basic site metadata (Title, URL, Description, Tags) will be displayed publicly within the directory.
